[jitsi-users] Android app

#1

Hello jitsi users,

I got a question, is there still active development on the Android app?
Because the last version is from February 2014.

I think it already works pretty good but it is still alpha version.

Thanks for your replies

I asked this same question a month or more ago and received no response.

Really hoping yours gets some kind of an answer.

Hey guys, this question has been asked and answered here already
Multiple times. So prior to complaining, feel free to have a look
through the archives.

For convenience: Development on Android is currently on hold. All
Jitsi Developers are currently working on Jitsi Videobridge, Jitsi
Meet, and a number of issues with Jitsi the client itself.

Thank you, developers, for your time and dedication.

Today I tried to instal latest Jitsi for Android version 258. Error message was that it could not parse. My Android version is 4.0.9.

Yes, I read Jitsi for Android development is on hold.

If this is about scarce resources and money--maybe you could set up a fund raising section on your website. You could, for instance, accept bitcoins via bitpay.

Why I think Jitsi for Android might be worthwhile to pursue more?
I think it's about the Android platform since so many mobile devices run on Android.
Then, it's about all of Jitsi's capabilities. XMPP, video calls or encryption are among the things, I found most interesting.
Combined this could maybe result in so many more Jitsi installs, users, project publicity and funds.

Should not be a problem, we got it installed on Android 4 already on a
Galaxy note.
