[jitsi-users] Allow mobile web browsing

#1

I have a client that wants to use Jitsi on mobile web browsers in an
audio-only mode. Currently Meet does not allow usage on mobile browsers and
there are some options for native app downloads. It works find if you do a
"Request Desktop site" in the mobile browser.

Is there an easy way to allow mobile web usage? Ideally via configuration.

Phase 1 of this project is just a quick proof of concept to verify a usage
scenario. If it works then there would be additional phases to modify the
GUI for that environment.

Not currently. This request comes every so often, so I guess having an option for it using a config option, disabled by default, could be acceptable. If you’re up for writing a patch, see this function here: https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/blob/master/react/features/deep-linking/functions.js#L40 It would need to consider that config option and remove the promise with undefined.

Cheers,
