[jitsi-users] advice/documentation for addressing connectivity issues

#1

Hi All,

Myself and others are working on an open-source project called Drutopia
(based off of Drupal). We meet twice a week by video conference and
several us regularly have connectivity issues, which we aren't
experiencing with Skype or Zoom.

We'd love to support a fellow open source project, but the call being
dropped repeatedly prevents Jitsi from being viable for us.

I looked through the documentation and didn't see any advice for how to
address this.

Our instance is on jitsi.mayfirst.org

Any advice is greatly welcomed. We're also happy to contribute back with
documentation and bug reports.

Many thanks,
Clayton

Hi,

Did you try using meet.jit.si deployment, are you facing the same issues there?

Can you please describe in more detail the issue that you see? Is it a complete failure to connect to the conference? Or you connect and then you get disconnected? Or you connect and then some video streams are disabled?

We'd love to support a fellow open source project, but the call being
dropped repeatedly prevents Jitsi from being viable for us.

The server's network connectivity is one thing you may want to take a look at.

Boris

damencho,

We haven't tried using meet.jit.si. We'll give that a shot Friday and
then report back specifics if we have any issues.

Boris,

We were all able to connect, but a few of us had issues with videos
freezing and audio getting choppy. Turning off video would help some,
but ultimately a couple of us were dropped from the call. We were able
to get back on, but then experienced the same issues.

So yeah, we'll try meet.jit.si for now.

Thanks!
