Jitsi meet camera and microphone does not work

I have installed jitsi meet on a server with this method https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/blob/master/doc/quick-install.md
(except Advanced configuration & Adding sip-gateway to Jitsi Meet)
but there are some issues : the microphone and camera does not work although I allowed that
it is log out continuously and rejoin again and again
Also another user cant join the room
and the chat box in left side does not show the typed message and emojis
what’s wrong?

I suppose it is failing for some reason to join the xmpp muc.
Check js console logs, what error do you see?
Check prosody logs, any errors?
Which version of prosody do you use?
You are installing from stable repo, right?

If you are using prosody 0.10, check your config you probably have storage = "null", this should be storage = "none", restart prosody, jvb and jicofo and this should fix the problem.
This issue is fixed for new installation in the unstable repo and we will soon push it to stable.

Thank you for the answer.I will try that and inform you

the linux version for my server is debian 9 and the prosody that was installed with jitsi package was 0.9
actually the solution that i used was that i installed prosody from its original website and then i used the quick installation method for jitsi again, this time every thing is fine and all of the errors i mentioned in first question were corrected.
all the problem is for jitsi-prosody,since while you are installing jitsi meet some error about its processing shown in terminal.
maybe should your team should revise this method https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/blob/master/doc/quick-install.md
thank you!

I have another question, how can i use the source code?
I mean I want to git clone jitsi meet and use it in quick method installation,(I have done every thing about server now I need to srart jitsi meet with source code inorder to implement my project) what are the config? thank you @damencho

You cannot directly use it.

The easiest way to use it:

  • git clone on your dev machine, not on the server
  • cd jitsi-meet
  • npm install
  • WEBPACK_DEV_SERVER_PROXY_TARGET=“https://mydomain.com” make dev
  • start making modifications and when you are done
  • make
  • transfer your jitsi-meet folder without the node_modules to the server
  • modify your webserver config to server jitsi-meet from your new location instead of /usr/share/jitsi-meet

Thank you in advance!
