Jitsi is blocked in censorship countries

Trying to use Jitsi on iphone in a censorship country but whenever i click join it says connection lost try to reconnect, only it works when i use VPN.

Anybody has any idea if this solvable?

You should use not blocked ports changing it in jitsi on server side, but I don’t know how to help you more than saying this.

Probably because it uses XMPP ports

i dont control the server , i tested on https://meet.jit.si/

it seems the blockage on the protocol level not ports or ip.

Using a custom server would let you change ports and that will works, otherwise ask your country to enable jitsi, but I doubt they’ll do xD

ha! jitsi blocked on purpose not randomly.

We so XMPP over HTTP. The problem here is likely media, but we are able to also tunnel it over HTTPS, so my guess is there are ussing some form of Deep Packet Inspection and detecting it’s likely RTP traffic and thus they cut it.
