[jitsi-dev] XMPP urls not working

#1

Hi guys,

the current update has broken my workflow (http://xkcd.com/1172/)

in our company we use an intranet-site that lists our co-members and other stuff, and i use the xmpp-links like

xmpp:GEh@im.synedra.xxx

to call Jitsi with the url as cmd

c:\xxx\Jitsi.exe "url"

But this does not work anymore. Could you help?

thanks
Gerhard

There hasn't been any change in how URLs are handled since 2.6 and from 2.4 to 2.6 only for SIP.

Is xmpp still registered in the registry as an URL handler? Should be HKCR\xmpp\shell\open\command\(Default) REG_SZ := "C:\Program Files (x86)\Jitsi\Jitsi.exe" %1

thanks

There hasn't been any change in how URLs are handled since 2.6 and

from 2.4 to 2.6 only for SIP.

strange, because i just confirmed it that way:

Having Jitsi 2.4 installed:

running the command:

  C:\Users\xxx>"C:\Program Files\Jitsi\Jitsi.exe" xmpp:ado@xx.synedra.xx

works fine (xx just for privacy in this mail).

Then, i install 2.8 (via update) and the same command gives me the error:

Error handling xmpp:ado@xx.synedra.xx

So, where is the problem arising from - all my colleuges have the same problem.

Thanks
Gerhard

Sorry, I haven't investigated this thoroughly enough last time. There's been a leftover from the refactoring for the SIP changes. It's now fixed with commit 56e13236bb3c52fef40cddb31a94dc84fc5d7d39 and should be available in the build 2.9.5435. Should be available in a couple of hours.

Thanks
