[jitsi-dev] win installer 3289 x86 incomplete - updates disturbed

#1

the latest update nb 3289 x86 caused the unusual offer to reboot,
afterwards jitsi did not start up:
there were 2-3 "run.exe" files in task-manager which could not be stopped but no javaw.exe
file.

checking the download page I saw that the 3289 x86 file is too small (only 13 Mb) and I
had to go back re-installing till version 3285 which could be installed now w/o problems,
other versions (3286-88) caused same effect on my Lenovo Z61m WinXP SP3 (no java running,
2-3 run.exe in taskmgr)

jitsi is now running again smoothly with version 3285 and I am hesitating to update again

can somebody reproduce this?

#2

Can you please try upgrading to the latest build (3290) and see if it
works ?

Thanks,
Emil

update worked now normally with 3291 (I missed 3290) - however both SIP accounts (iptel,
ippi) could not connect, also not after restarting jitsi. Jabber accounts connect normally

Thank you for the report! I couldn't reproduce the issue with the
setup that you reported earlier. Anyway, I made multiple changes in
r8260 to try to prevent a technically possible deadlock between the
newly-introduced crash handling implementation and the update
functionality which I guess could've been the reason for what you've
experienced. If the issue resurfaces on your next update from 3291 to
a newer build, please kill run.exe and continue with the update so
that my modifications may kick in for your yet next update.
