[jitsi-dev] WASAPI versus Win XP ?

#1

Hi,

since a certain time the XMPP voice has lots of clicks on it making a
conversation impossible. It does not matter which codec is used,
the voice is extremely difficult to understand.

Both sides are using Win XP and I am wondering if these clicks and
bad audio aredue to a change in JITSI to WASAPI ?

Is there reason to believe that JITSI is no longer usable with XP ?

Regards, Earl

If you are using PortAudio then no.

Is there reason to believe that JITSI is no longer usable with XP ?

Not more now than before.

Hi Emil,

thanks for quick response.

I am forced to use PortAudio, there is no other possibility with my XP installation.

Therefore I can assume that the problem is somewhere, but not WASPI ??

Before the audio was good and I do not understand why there has been a change.

Computers are the same, no changes. I can test between XP and Linux on same
LAN.

Since audio on Windows XP appears to be a hot topic these days, maybe you, Earl, could track down the commit which changed the quality from "good" to "impossible" for you?
