[jitsi-dev] Wanting to help with Jitsi

#1

Hello,
I am interested in helping with the Jitsi project. I can help wherever, but I am not confident in my ability to write code for this project. Is there any other way I can help? I was thinking about writing some documentation, because I downloaded the source and the doc folder is empty. Also on the website there is no documentation available. Is there anything I could do to help? If so, please email me back.

Hey Caleb

We could indeed need some help in creating documentation. David Bolton (also
here on the list) has started some user documentation on our Wiki, primarily
about how to install Jitsi and accounts setup. You could help him with that
if you like.

If you are capable of programming and would like to contribute some code,
then just do it. We happily review any patches you send to the list here, so
you don't need to worry about breaking something.

Regards,
Ingo

Caleb,

I started a few pages of the documentation at
https://jitsi.org/Documentation/UserDocumentation but haven't been going
very fast. Any help is appreciated.

For example at the bottom of
https://jitsi.org/Documentation/InstallAndSetupOnWindows (under the heading
"Next Steps") you'll see several links to pages that are not written yet.

If you are on Windows Vista or 7 I recommend http://www.7capture.com/ for
taking screenshots (it deals with the window transparency and rounded
corners of the windows better than other screenshot applications I've come
across). If you are on a different operating system like Mac OS or Linux,
it would be helpful to have installation instruction like I did for
Windows.

David
