[jitsi-dev] Video

#1

Hi,

I am running the nightly build and since the start of this week the video
calling feature has developed a couple of problems:

1. When starting a video chat, the "show/hide local video" feature
defaults to on, this was working fine, but recently has started showing on
the right hand side, and causing the main video stream to appear as a
single pixel dot in a black window. Disabling the local video and then
re-enabling it during the call fixes the issue.

2. There appears to be some strange horizontal wipe across the video
stream as the quality adapts due to bandwidth issues, that I was not
experiencing before.

Thanks
Tom

Could you please state the operating system name and version on which
the issue manifests itself for you?

It's actually a feature and it's referred to by the name Periodic
Intra Refresh. We used to have it for quite some time, then we
unintentionally broke it during a recent update of our dependencies
and then we brought it back again very recently.

Hi,

Sorry I should've said.

OS: Windows 7 32bit
Jitsi Version: 1.1.4448.10395

Attached is a screen shot of the issue.

Thanks
Tom

Hi,

Is there any update on when video conferencing will work again?

For a week or so the nightly build has a problem with the local video frame jumps to the right hand side and the main video is black with a single pixel in the middle.

I am running in single window mode, it was working fine previously though.

Cheers
Tom

We were at FOSDEM at the end of last week so we spent the time prior to that preparing for the event, yet there was no time left to fix the "single pixel" issue. It shouldn't be long now, we will likely fix it in a few days.

I've noticed this problem too and tracked it down to r10392. I've not identified a fix yet, but if you're desperate to get it working we could just back out that revision.

I've just checked in a partial fix for this in r10428 that at least fixes the case where video presents aren't supported. It should be available in the nightly build tonight.

I believe the error will still be present where video presents are supported, but maybe Lyubomir will look at that?

Thanks
Tom

Hi,

Thanks for looking at it, I've tried the new build and can confirm I am still seeing the issue.
