[jitsi-dev] Users see themselves but not each other

#1

Hi Jitsi Champs,

I might be (finally!) getting closer to an actual working instance of Jitsi
Meet. [^_^]

When I send out the URL ( this is a domain.net address set up via no-ip) my
friends are able to see themselves on the screen, but the corresponding
thumbnail on my screen shows a cartoon and clicking upon it I find a "*Guest
is having connectivity issues..*" status.

The browser dev tools view is error free except for one from chatroom.js:

How to resolve the following error:

*Logger.js:125 [modules/xmpp/ChatRoom.js] <t.value>: No conference handler
or conference not started yet*
1) What does this error mean and how do I try to fix it?
2) I'm using a ./jicofo.sh and ./jvb.sh to start the components - is there
an error log file somewhere on the system with this ignition?

Any clues on how to get it to work are well received!

Best Regards,
mkr

Hi,

You need to check for errors in the jvb log, probably on the console
as you are starting them on command line. When using packages those
logs go to /var/log/jitsi.

You need to check in chrome://webrtc-internals whether you send or
receive data and what is the state of the ice connection.

Also when having connectivity issues a common problem can be that the
bridge is ran on an non-public address without configuring jvb with
proper settings. Or no port forwarding in case of nat, or firewall
blocking issue, network configuration problems in general.

You need to forward/allow tcp ports 443 or 4443 depending how you run
jvb and who is serving jitsi-meet (nginx/apache or jvb itself). You
also need to forward 10000-20000 udp ports, or at least port 10000
cause most clients work using single port.
