[jitsi-dev] Use dialpad implemented in mainframe instead of the provided one for ongoing call

#1

Hi all,

I have successfully managed to combine the dialpad in the mainframe. As
I would like the UI to include all of the features, I have set
impl.gui.SINGLE_WINDOW_INTERFACE to true in the defaults.properties
file.

However, I would like to know if I would be able to use the dialpad I
have implemented when I am in a call instead of using the one that has
been provided? Because the one provided has to be clicked then it will
be popped up, which is tedious. Also, for my case, user will be
confused as to which dialpad to use. I hope someone have suggestions...
Thanks all in advance for the help!

Hi,

I can't answer your question but I'm wondering out loud how Jitsi's mainframe dialpad can known to which call/channel it should send the DTMFs in the case where one could have multiple active calls.

Maybe it would be easier to have the per-call popup dialpad configurable so it doesn't popup but is always visible within each call dialog/window. Something like impl.gui.SINGLE_WINDOW_INTERFACE but for the call window, not just the mainframe. This way, the user within a call would see the dialpad and won't think of using the one on the mainframe. The user could still use the mainframe dialpad to make new calls while on the phone with someone else.

Anyway, these are just thoughts. The tough part is getting the dialpad to show up correctly in the call window when there's video. It seems difficult to me to optimize space.
