[jitsi-dev] Unable to see video streaming

#1

Hi Everyone,

I just installed Jitsi in my Ubuntu 12.04 server. I opened all the relevant
ports and I'm not able to see anything.

This is what I see when I run:

Https://<Server Ip Address>/David

Just a black screen, no video streaming from my camera.

<img src=’/uploads/jitsi/original/2X/7/74d5a1e5ba67038e1933db090cc81c65970ba47e.jpg’ width=‘690’ height=‘325’>
sudo iptables -L output:

<img src=’/uploads/jitsi/original/2X/5/5b9739c702ed88552e27f614df6b1cb6adae8673.png’ width=‘690’ height=‘189’>

What am I missing here?

Thanks,
David

Hi,

you need to check for errors the console log of the browser, then jicofo
log file, then videobridge log file.

Hi

Damian, I will write a doc about how test and debug Jitsi-meet after many
problems. Using this hook, I have a instance that not work. I found a issue
about this too here[1].

Looking my console, have lots of this msgs:

Hi,

seems jicofo is unable to register as a component to the prosody
(ComponentException: host-unknown), this is the first thing you need
to fix. Seems prosody doesn't know about jicofo component.

The first one on joining ("Data channels support is disabled!" ) is known
one, and we will work on that and is harmless. The second one is not good,
and will affect stuff like remote statistics and dominant speaker and also
simulcast.
Do you reproduce it on every attempt?

Damian, I will write a doc about how test and debug Jitsi-meet after many

Hi,

you need to check for errors the console log of the browser, then jicofo
log file, then videobridge log file.

Hi Everyone,

I just installed Jitsi in my Ubuntu 12.04 server. I opened all the

This is what I see when I run:

Https://<Server Ip Address>/David

Just a black screen, no video streaming from my camera.

sudo iptables -L output:

What am I missing here?

As maybe you are using old version of prosody check for
Include "conf.d/*.cfg.lua"
/in /etc/prosody/prosody.cfg.lua. Also in
/etc/prosody/conf.d/yourdomain.cfg.lua you have
Component "focus.yourdomain"
    component_secret = "somsecret"

Then the secret must be the same as JICOFO_SECRET in /etc/jitsi/jicofo/config.

Hi,

seems jicofo is unable to register as a component to the prosody
(ComponentException: host-unknown), this is the first thing you need
to fix. Seems prosody doesn't know about jicofo component.

Thanks Damian.

I just checked and it is the same password as in mydomain.cfg.lua and I
have the include file.

This is the configuration of the JICOFO config file:

* Jitsi Conference Focus settings*
*# sets the host name of the XMPP server*
*JICOFO_HOST=localhost*

*# sets the XMPP domain (default: none)*
*JICOFO_HOSTNAME=myhostname*

Component "focus.yourdomain"

Then the secret must be the same as JICOFO_SECRET in

If all the configs are present in prosody config files as I mentioned,
no idea it should not show this host-unknown error. Maybe restarting
prosody and then jicofo and see whether the exception is still there.

Thanks Damian.

I just checked and it is the same password as in mydomain.cfg.lua and I have
the include file.

This is the configuration of the JICOFO config file:

Jitsi Conference Focus settings
# sets the host name of the XMPP server
JICOFO_HOST=localhost

# sets the XMPP domain (default: none)
JICOFO_HOSTNAME=myhostname
