Another try on this:
Are there any plans about trying to compile/package Jitsi for the ARM
platform, so that Jitsi would run on Ubuntu Touch?
Others have asked this before (e.g. [1], [2]), and maybe it was too
early that time, but now Ubuntu Touch is pretty well off, working
fine, with a solid user base (of enthusiasts, acknowleded!). Telegram
and Skype are working there, at least for messaging, but a voice and
video chat application is still missing for the platform. (Could be a
booster for Jitsi if it were #1 there, both for downloads and
visibility in the press, maybe! What do you think?)
And of course SIP would be awesome to make a real difference, and
remind people of their responsibility to pay (less) for their phone
calls, if they care about privacy.
I'm not sure what it takes to make Jitsi available on ARM, but if
anyone knows the challenges I can try to help to get it running and
also help with packaging.
Cheers, Peter
