[jitsi-dev] UBUNTU Server - JITSI configuration for user authentication from an LDAP Server

#1

Hello,

I have a working JITSI (latest STABLE version) server on UBUNTU v.
16.04.2, using the Quick Installation method, and I would like to connect
it to our organization LDAP for having only authorized users as conference
rooms hosts, while guests can also join subsequently anonymously.

Unfortunately, I could not find an official documentation on how to
achieve this, do you have any web sources/knowledge on how to configure
the server appropriately?

Also, is it a prerequisite that the operating system should be joined to
our domain?

Thanking you in advance for your time,

Petros

Hello,

unfortunately I could not make this work, did you followed the manual
installation procedure with NGINX web server or the quick method with Jetty
web service? Also, is it a requirement for the UBUNTU to be joined to the
organization domain?

Some more feedback... At the login prompt, if I use the
username@auth.meet.example.com form, then the wrong password indication is
displayed and if I use the username@domain.com form, the message
"Unfortunately something went wrong." is displayed with a countdown in
seconds for retrying. Also, if I use only plain username the the Connecting
pop up window appears without any success.

Regards,

Petros
