Hey
Sometimes the notification popups are too small to show the entire
text of a message.
Indeed they are. Thanks for looking into this.
I attached a comparison between how it is in trunk
and my local modifications. Specific points are:
- Move the message title into the title of the popup
Good! However I think I'd prefer we kept the application name in there.
For example:
"<app.name>: Ingo wrote"
- Remove the icon if it's the Jitsi logo
I agree we can get rid of the Jitsi icon for things like error messages
or system notifications. Personally I like it there, but people around
here seem to agree so, fine.
It is of course important that we keep avatars when they are available,
which I think you have already taken into account.
There's one more case: instant messages from people with no avatars. We
might want to use the generic avatar there (the impersonal avatar we use
in the call dialog for example). This way we'd have the same layout for
all incoming messages which should make things easier to follow for
users. WDYT?
- Makes the popup a bit wider and higher, at most 5 lines instead of
3
OK.
- A minimum of three lines in height
OK.
The point of removing the application name from the title is that a
user IMHO knows which application has caused the popup (general
look&feel and through the small logo in the upper left corner).> This
is also why the big logo can removed: it's a duplication.
I don't quite agree here. I really think that recognizing such details
is automatic only for relatively experienced users, so I think it is
important to at least prefix the title with the application name.
How does this sound?
Cheers,
Emil

Would it be okay for you if I modify it like in the attachment? Or
are there other ideas how to gain some space?
