[jitsi-dev] Smack 4

#1

Hi,

As far as I know, Jitsi (at least 2.4) uses old version of smack library
(3.2 or something like this).

Smack 3.6 recently released, 4.x is coming, so — any plans to use a newer
version?

Hi,

I'm planning to test smack 4.0 with Jitsi, but we have several patches
that we have applied to local smack. Most of them were already
integrated into smack, and few are on their way. So it is not a drop
in replacement and we also make sure everything works. So at some
point we will update it.

Out of curiosity, are there any additions in smack that would make a Jitsi integration more appealing?
