[jitsi-dev] running two instances of Jitsi

#1

Hi All,

I started to use Jitsi since I don't want to go to skype.

Love it! Works brilliant, is simple and no commercial or other nonsense!

Let it be clear, I am a user and have NO real IT-skills or programming
skills.

My suggestions would be to make Jitsi available in a form that allows
multiple instances of Jitsi to run simultaneously from the same PC.

In my case, I had an MSN account for professional use and one for my family.
With an added MSN-patch from Mastaline I was able to run 2 instances of MSN
at the same time. Those two MSN instances do not merge contact persons into
one list.

This implemented in Jitsi, as downloadable version would be a major added
bonus!

Thanks for looking into this.

Best regards,

Jitsi can be run in multiple instances, you just need to pass
'-Dargs=--multiple' when you run it. Exactly how to do this will depend on
your system and on the way you installed Jitsi, but it's not complicated.

I realize this is different from what you suggested, since it requires a
little bit of tinkering, but I figured it might be of some help anyway.

Boris
