[jitsi-dev] review and document licenses and origins of images in jitsi

#1

I've filled this issue already as JITSI-998 without knowing your procedures.
Please reopen this issue if you want to solve it.

A distro packager needs to be sure that the images coming with Jitsi can be
distributed under a free license. If the images are taken from common sets
like Tango it would even be preferable for a packager to not ship the images
in the jitsi package but to depend on the tango package of the distribution.

AFAIK most of the icons were created by Yana or other developers. Using some of them from OS-packages is not very reasonable because of the cross-platform development (which is also why it's not so easy to just add dependencies for native libraries).

Emil: if we wanna go down that road, then we probably should create something like the credits.txt in resources/images/plugin/keybindingchooser for every folder. And it would then probably be best if Yana starts with what she knows, following the developers that originally committed the respective icon.

Ingo

Yes, that would be nice.

in resources/images/plugin/keybindingchooser for every folder.

I think we would be fine if we only did that for images that weren't
designed explicitly for Jitsi.
