[jitsi-dev] Report on meet.jit.si issues

#1

Hello,

We had an unsuccessful attempt of a large group meeting (10+) in
meet.jit.si. Should I send the log file downloaded from the website (+
narrative report on all the issues) to this list, or does the log file
contain private data, such as IPs, and should it be therefore sent to a
specific development team person?

thanks

karel

Hey Karel,

How was the attempt unsuccessful exactly? Could you please describe it
in a bit more detail?

Hi Emil,

Hey Karel,

Copying the narrative report below. I am aware that it is so general
that it might not be useful at all. I wasn't in this meeting myself, but
I had experienced similar issues before (e.g. appearing in a room on my
own, being with other people in the room whom I wouldn't be able to see
(gray avatars only) nor hear).

Let me know where should I send the log (if it is useful).

Thanks

Meeting report:

When we were only up to 5-6
people in the room meet.jit.si worked just fine. As more people started
entering the meeting space, people started having issues like not being
able to hear or see each other or access screen or turn off video. Chat, who
started the meeting, suddenly disconnected and everything went haywire.
Attached herewith the cloud file for you Karel.
Some people used the same link including Emi, Avri, and Daphne, but would be
in a chat room on their own.

We are aware of an issue where sometimes the focus hangs. I don't know if this is what happened here but in such cases it is enough for the current organiser to reload the page and things start working again.
