[jitsi-dev] Re: Jitsi-2.2: 'invalid transport' under MacOSX

Hey Eeri,

You might want to send this to our dev list so that others could chime
in if interested.

Cheers,
Emil

Hello,

This error report is probably not very useful, but nevertheless: Under
MacOSX-10.6.4 there is a problem to connect Jitsi directly to another
MacOSX computer on a local net running XMeeting SIP client. (I also
tested Linphone instead of Jitsi against XMeeting, and the connection,
both audio and video, succeeds.)

Error window reads as follows:

--------8<--------8<--------8<--------8<--------8<--------8<--------

Failed to create the call. invalid transport

FYI, putting Linphone and Jitsi against each other (connecting from
Linphone directly to Jitsi in the same local net environment) often
crashes Jitsi; it looks like it depends on how the "preferred" video
codecs are sorted in the preferences settings. (I am testing Linphone
3.5.2 and Jitsi 2.2, both under MacOSX 10.6.4 environments.)

Then, the released MacOSX binary being a universal binary I installed it
on G4-Powerbook under MacOSX 10.4. It starts great but "File", "Tools",
"Help" items are missing on top menu bar. So one cannot perform basic
Preferences setup (i.e. access CMD-, preferences window, i.e. the
hot-keys are missing too) to specify camera and microphone settings in
order to operate Jitsi, which is unfortunate.

P.S. If you provide step-by-step instructions, I could do some further
testing if its helpful.

Greetings,

    Eeri Kask
