[jitsi-dev] Re: DTMF tones don't work on Asterisk

Hi Damian,

What I mean with my previous mail is that you had an issue, I think
that the other way (which is SIP INFO) didn't worked for you, and I
asked can you try, is this still an issue for you.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I confused the two DTMF modes.

So I repeated the test:
- changed the Asterisk config back to dtmfmode=info
- disabled the "Telefone Event"
... and it worked. So probably we can close the issue

To try you must set in your asterisk configuration dtmfmode=info and
in SIP Communicator to disable telephone-event and then test dtmfs, are
still working?

BTW, What is "telephone-event" for? Having it on causes the dtmf in dtmfmode = info to fail.

What does this mean for DTMF dialled extentions (pres "1" to ...) Would the user have to disable the telephone-event? What else does it do?

The touchtones in the speaker sound rally crackling. (listen to the recording in the attachment). But enough to switch my mixer.

Thanks for your help
Greetings
Conrad

Hi again,

Hi Damian,

telephone-event is actually sending DTMFs using rfc2833 and if
asterisk expects SIP Info if fails.

What does this mean for DTMF dialled extentions (pres "1" to ...) Would the user have to disable the telephone-event? What else does it do?

Yes it sounds strange, but I don't know why and this is not an urgent
issue as everything is working
