[jitsi-dev] Question of "Show your face" idea in GSoC 2017

#1

Hi all,

My name is Chunxu Tang. I'm a second-year PhD of Computer Engineering at
Syracuse University. My current research directions are pattern recognition
and real time data sharing and collaboration. I found that Jitsi projects
are so related to my research, and I'm eager to contribute to the project
during the summer.

I'm interested in the idea: *"Show your face" prompts for Jitsi Meet.* I
have developed a simple React app for face position detection, which has
been deployed at *https://face-detection-app.herokuapp.com
<https://face-detection-app.herokuapp.com>*. Normally, "*Good position*"
should be displayed. While, if the face in the camera is too near, far,
left, right, etc., it will show "*Bad position*".

I'm currently reading the source code of Jitsi Meet. Now the problem for me
is that in the source code, I'm not sure where should I start to add my
code. Is jitsi-meet/react/features directory a good starting point for the
project? Could anyone give me some suggestions?

Thank you.

Best regards,
Chunxu

Hi,

That’s a neat project, congrats!

If you are interested, please do submit your application, we can show you that at a later time

Thanks for your interest in doing GSoC with us!

Cheers,
