[jitsi-dev] Q about multipart videoconference security

#1

Dear All,
as the release of the next stable 2.0 version is approaching soon I want to
ask if the multiparty videoconference will be end-to-end encrypted (zrtp)?

So far I haven´t seen the presentation of Emil about the videobridge on the
video.fosdem.org webpage, but only the common panel discussion.

Therein Emil showed one slide with 5 participants (!) for a video
conference using jitsi, however the padlocks seem to be red and open.

Questions:
+)how is the communication secured in a multiparty videoconference?
+) are multiparty videoconferences only possible via jit.si accounts or
also via other SIP/XMPP accounts?

kind regards, MS

Not currently, we're not sure if we are going to do ZRTP their or just
resort to SDES.

Videobridge conferences require a jitsi videobridge to be present on the
XMPP service of the person who's setting up the call. Jit.si does offer
such a bridge.

Cheers,
Emil
