[jitsi-dev] payload type numbers

#1

Hi dev list,

Is someone of you able to provide me a list with the supported codec (Audio and Video) by Jitsi Meet including the payload type numbers which will be used inside the RTP packets?

Best regards and thx
Timmi

Currently the payload types that are used are:
111 opus
100 vp8
116 RED
117 ulpfec

Note that the numbers might change. There is a longer list of codecs which could be supported if we just add them to the offer -- it depends on what the browsers support (e.g. all webrtc endpoints are supposed to support G711 so that probably works as well).

Regards,
Boris

Hi Boris,

thank you so much for the information.
I guess the RTP traffic is currently not encrypted right (means SRTP)?

Best regards

It is always encrypted, as WebRTC mandates DTLS/SRTP. The videobridge terminates the encryption with each endpoint.

Hi Boris,

once again thank you for your answer.
OK this should be the last question in this regards for now:

Where do I find the payload type mapping in the source code?

Best regards
Timmi
