Hi all,

sorry to post this question here, but in user list i got no answers.

I'm unable to find a way to display contact name instead of calling number on
incoming calls from contacts in my list.
There is a way to do this ?

Thanks

Hi Emil,

Would it be possible for the local contacts to be looked up for an inbound call and the display name from the contact be used on the pop up notification.

The reason why is because I (like many others) add PSTN contacts to my local Jitsi contacts list and it would be useful when they ring I know who is calling.

Because it is a PSTN call the SIP server does not know who is calling.

Thanks

Hey Damian,

Hi Emil,

Would it be possible for the local contacts to be looked up for an inbound call and the display name from the contact be used on the pop up notification.

Well, we do this for pictures already so yes, it would be. However I am
not sure exactly when we would have the time to look at this. A patch
would be most welcome of course!

Also, feel free to open a ticket in JIRA

Thanks,
Emil

Actually, that also makes sense to override the name delivered from the
server or peer. Think of funny screen names or multiple people with the same
first name here.

I would also love incoming numbers to be matched to my google address book. Would be great to see which one of my contacts is calling

Hi Emil,

as Damian said, lot of calls coming to asterisk come from telphone
lines, so it would be very useful have a local contact search on
incoming call to popup contact name.
I wonder that anyone asked this before. I think it's a basic function
for a messaging client that manage sip accounts.

Thanks,
Mauro
