[jitsi-dev] ?OTRv2? in EOM

#1

Hi again,

the third "bug" today: using google talk a message has (under some
circumstances I can't reproduce yet) the following String in the end:
"?OTRv2?"

What is this for?
Why is it generated?

I'm using Jitsy 1.0-beta1-nightly.build.3593 on Mac OS X 10.6.8

With kind regards,
~Marcel

Hi Marcel,

The "?OTRv2?" string is sometimes used in the OTR protocol for
discovering OTR support between two parties. Off-the-Record (OTR)
Messaging allows you to have private conversations over instant
messaging, see here for more information:
http://www.cypherpunks.ca/otr/.

Does the other party (your collegue/friend/test account) use the OTR
protocol? Do you have any steps to reproduce the problem?

Regards,
George

Hi,

thanks, now I understand what OTR means  (yes, google will help too
*dough*)

yes, this issue seems to cover the OTR issue, but perhaps it was
"triggered" by hitting the grayed Lock icon on the upper right of the
chat window?! But can't reproduce it constantly.

Anyone using Jitsi with GoogleApps too and have this problem but
unreproducable?
