[jitsi-dev] OTR issues

#1

When I am signed into a Jitsi instance on my laptop and another on my
Android phone, and a contact messages me, the OTR for the two instances
is confused and sends data encrypted to the wrong OTR key to the device
that I am using. This is, of course, unreadable.

Worse, if only one device -- say my laptop -- is set for private
messaging, while the other -- my phone -- is not, the contacts messages
which were sent with the OTR padlock closed are sent to my phone
unencrypted.

Does the error in handling multiple instances rest with the OTR
protocol or with Jitsi? Can this be resolved?

Thanks.

Android version is using some older OTR implementation which does not
work correctly with multiple Jitsi desktop instances. We do not know
when we'll be able to fix it.
