Hi,

I am trying to search outlook contact in Jitsi(revision 4878) but it’s not
showing all search results. For example if in outlook we have 5 contacts
with first name as Joe and when we search for Joe in Jitsi , it will show
only 2 results instead of showing 5 results.

I am also having problem starting the Jitsi automatically by adding in
Windows startup. Jitsi is not starting up along with my Windows. Could
these be issues with Jitsi’s code ? Any suggestions please?

Would help if someone share their thoughts on this.

Thanks in advance!!

Hello Vishnu,

It is the first time I heard about such problem. Thus, we will need more information to figure out what is specific to your situation.

For example, does your 5 contacts are in the same outlook folder ? Can you describe us a "specific" information about these contacts ?

Anyway, to study this issue we will need your logs and maybe the exported vcards for these contacts.

Regards,
Vincent

Hi,

The issue is that outlook contacts appears to be the last thing searched.
Seems to search contacts, then LDAP, then outlook.

When a contact does not exist in either XMPP or LDAP, the outlook search
results do not show. Even though matching contacts exist in outlook.

That is, the outlook search only shows (or runs) when there is a relevant
XMPP or LDAP contact shown also.

Example (1):

Outlook contact name: Commito, Paul

LDAP contact: Comrad, Imran

When I search Comm in the search box, nothing is shown, even though the
outlook contact is valid.

When I search Com both contacts are shown in the search results.

Exampl (2):

Outlook contact name: Commito, Paul

LDAP contact: Commrad, Imran

                (note the second m)

When I search Comm in the search box, both contacts are shown, but if I
extend the name to Commi then nothing is shown again.

Thanks in advance!!

I tried to reproduce this. And actually I think it's not related to the
contacts but the extremely slow processing of the Outlook search. I have 186
contacts in my first mailbox and 5 in the second. It regularly times out.

What I noticed was that there were like a dozen of threads repeatedly
created and destroyed, almost like for every contact found. Can't we use a
ThreadPool for this?

If absolutely necessary I can export my address book into a .pst.

I suspect these are because of DetachCurrentThread (where
AttachCurrentThreadAsDaemon initializes a new Java Thread instance and
DetachCurrentThread destroys it).
