[jitsi-dev] New video on android (was Jitsi-android with openfire)

#1

Hi Pawel,
Thanks for your detailed explanation, it's really helpful.
And i found mediaRecorder method really cost much more bandwith than "Android Camera" method, but in "Android Camera" mode ,i didn't find too much differences between hardware mode and software mode.
I'll keep on looking into it.
Also , I changed my email to this, gmail will be easier to use.
Cheers,
Ray

Check the logs they print the whole codecs graph that Libjitsi builds.
JNIEncoder, JNIDecoder are libjitsi codecs while AndroidEndoer,
AndroidDecoder are using MediaCodec and can be hardware accelerated,
but it's not always the case. I saw quite big difference in cpu usage
between software and hardware. I also manged to send 1200x705 video
from tablet to desktop, but it requires a lot of bandwidth to look
good(around 8mbits) and if rtp losses will occur the artifacts show
up, but will be working on it in later time.

Software encoders/decoders should work in most cases as long as we
have YV12 image format. It looks decent for lower resolutions, but
consumes around 40%-50% cpu.
