[jitsi-dev] New interface - tab headers

#1

Hey Yana

Thanks (and all other participants) for the new interface!

Found a small glitch however: The tab headers are a bit too narrow, the text
is almost cut off. Not sure if this is a language issue, but I guess it's
more than that.

Regards,
Ingo

I'm glad you like it.

Indeed. I can reproduce it in the English version. It seems to appear only on Windows. I'll have a look.

Thanks!
Yana

Hi Ingo,

Could you please try build 4217?

I've also fixed the antialiasing.

Cheers,
Yana

Hey

I think the active tab could still have a bit more space, but it's not
serious anymore. You'd probably better look at more important things now :slight_smile:

Hey Yana

The too narrow tab headers are back. Did you (accidently) commit an undo
there?
I've also noticed that the 'x' of the tabbed chat UI almost overlaps the
last letter of the tab name and it's vertically not centered.

Ingo

I don't think I've touched anything related. I need to check latest commits and see what could have caused the issue to reappear.

I've also noticed that the 'x' of the tabbed chat UI almost overlaps the
last letter of the tab name and it's vertically not centered.

I've tried to put the "x" button on the top intentionally, in order to provide a temporary fix for the overlapping problem, which existed also before the new interface. The problem there is that the string width isn't computed correctly when the string is reduced and the "…" are added at the end.

Cheers,
Yana

Hey again

I just noticed that the behavior changes while Jitsi is running:
- Disable "Group chat messages in one window"
- Restart Jitsi -> everything okay
- Open options, enable the group messages option
- Close options
- Open two chats (causing the tabbed chat interface to appear)
- Reopen options -> uups

Ingo

Hey Ingo,

Just performed the sequence and nothing strange happens on my side. Could you please attach a screenshot?

Sorry for the delay.
The appearance if it's not good is really just the same as in the original
screenshot. As almost always, this is of course on Windows...

I'll try the sequence again:
- Jitsi freshly started, grouped messages are disabled
- Options->Settings->Audio --> OK
- Options->Common -> enabled grouped messages
- Close options
- Open two chats (so that they appear tabbed in one window)
- Tools->Options->Audio --> NOK

Ingo
