[jitsi-dev] [new feature] PGP Support

#1

Jabber Clients like Pidgin and Gajim support PGP encrypted messages.
I would love to see http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0027.html implemented.
PGP has three advantages over OTR:
- The recipient can be offline
- Messages don't get lost ( see http://lists.jitsi.org/pipermail/users/2013-February/000633.html )
- Encrypted Group Chat is possible with a bit work

I would love to see PGP support coming to Jitsi!

Best regards,
Tamriel

This is indeed an advantage.

- Messages don't get lost ( see
http://lists.jitsi.org/pipermail/users/2013-February/000633.html )

That's just a bug that needs fixing.

- Encrypted Group Chat is possible with a bit work

The same fors for OTR.

I would love to see PGP support coming to Jitsi!

It is not something that's currently on our todo list but if someone
with enough experience would like to dedicate time for an
implementation we'd be happy to discuss the details.

Cheers,
Emil
