[jitsi-dev] mixed audio conference

#1

Hi

I have been trying to use mixed audio mode in a web conference. I
customized a little JICOFO and developed a custom web-client based on
lib-jitsi-meet. Now it looks like it is possible to setup a web-conference
with mixed audio channels, but there is one point I need help to understand
them.

It looks like all participants that have ‘mixed audio’ channel can hear
each other, but others (without ‘mixed audio’) cannot be heard. So, it
looks like we have two different sub-conferences in one – first one for
‘mixed mode’ participants, the second one is for ‘plain’ participants.
These two groups of participants can hear each other inside a group, but
cannot hear any participant from other group. Does it mean that it is
impossible to combine different participants (with mixed and not-mixed
audio) in one conference for now?

Is there any ‘reference-implementation’ example of using ‘mixed audio’
channels with jitsi-video-bridge server?

Thanks

Alex K

That's correct, the current code supports either mixing for everyone or translating for everyone.

I see,

is a combination of mixing/translation modes for single conference planned
to be implemented in the near future?

thank you
