[jitsi-dev] Messages from portaudio - again :-)

#1

Hi dear portaudio fans  ,

I'm running on a 64-bit system, OpenSuse 12.1, normal Java, no modifications on
portaudio, just plain Jitsi.

On my system I get an error message from portaudio:

[java] Expression 'PaAlsaStream_WaitForFrames( stream, &framesAvail, &xrun )' failed in 'src/hostapi/alsa/pa_linux_alsa.c', line: 4466
[java] 19:23:04.583 SCHWERWIEGEND: impl.neomedia.jmfext.media.renderer.audio.PortAudioRenderer.process().495 Failed to process Buffer.
[java] net.java.sip.communicator.impl.neomedia.portaudio.PortAudioException: Internal PortAudio error
[java] at net.java.sip.communicator.impl.neomedia.portaudio.PortAudio.Pa_WriteStream(Native Method)
[java] at net.java.sip.communicator.impl.neomedia.jmfext.media.renderer.audio.PortAudioRenderer.process(PortAudioRenderer.java:557)
[java] at net.java.sip.communicator.impl.neomedia.jmfext.media.renderer.audio.PortAudioRenderer.process(PortAudioRenderer.java:488)
[java] at net.sf.fmj.media.BasicRendererModule.processBuffer(Unknown Source)
[java] at net.sf.fmj.media.BasicRendererModule.scheduleBuffer(Unknown Source)
[java] at net.sf.fmj.media.BasicRendererModule.doProcess(Unknown Source)
[java] at net.sf.fmj.media.RenderThread.process(Unknown Source)
[java] at net.sf.fmj.media.util.LoopThread.run(Unknown Source)

After 2-4 such messages no more such messages are shown, audio output is ok.

The portaudio libs on my system are:

native/linux-64:
694194 18. Jan 20:30 libjnportaudio.so

native/linux:
581216 2. Feb 16:39 libjnportaudio.so

I just noticed the different update time/date of 64 vs 32 bit versions. Any idea why?
If there was a modification in portaudio then both libs should be built and have the
same data, shouldn't it?

As said - audio output is ok after I see some messages, thus IMHO it's not a real
critical problem.

Best regards,
Werner

The SVN commit logs on the two files show that they've been modified
on 2012-01-18 and then the 32-bit library got rebuild a couple of
times to resolve linking and loading problems on 2012-01-19. There's
been no change to these files afterwards so the date 2012-02-02 that
you see on your system is likely local to your system.
