[jitsi-dev] MacOSX usability improvements

#1

Hello

I would like to propose the following usability improvements for jitsi
on MacOSX:

1. Adjust the dialogs to more accurate Mac-friendly descriptions. In
the attached screenshot, the dialog "Clicking the X window button will
not exit the application, but only hide it. If you wish to exit the
application choose File/Quit." is Windows-centric and confuses MacOSX
users since
(a) there is no "X" window button
(b) There is no "File/Quit" to choose

2. (not sure if this is a bug or expected behaviour) The "Jitsi"
application menu (top left) has no menu items. Clicking it simply
highlights it but does not open a menu. That should at least have the
standard "Properties", "Quit" etc menu items. As it is, I see no way
of reaching the "Properties" UI of jitsi.

Thank you

Alex

Point taken. Could you please open a ticket for this one?

Attached is the Jitsi menu I get on a Mac. Are you running it from
sources or have you downloaded the dmg? I sometimes get this while Jitsi
is exiting. Can you restart Jitsi and try again?

Ticket opened: http://java.net/jira/browse/JITSI-1049

I downloaded the latest nightly dmg. Also, restarting jitsi (or the
computer) does not make a difference.

But, this is a MacOS 10.4 so if others are not seeing this bug on
newer OS releases it's reasonable to write this off as "wontfix -
unsupported OS".

Cheers
