[jitsi-dev] mac address book

#1

Hi,

I am still having problems with the mac os address book. I cannot call
numbers that have a "+contrycode" prefix, eg. +49... . 0049... works fine
with my sip account. Is that a known issue?

Thanks,

Kai

What exactly is the problem? What kind of error are you seeing?

SC says "call failed, not found" and that's it. The number that it attempts
to dial is shown as 49... not as 0049... or +49...
+49... numbers work fine when I enter them manually, but not out of the
address book.

Our observations (including of Microsoft Outlook and of the
Google/Android library that we use to normalize phone numbers) and
testing makes us believe that the issue is really provider dependent
i.e. while + and 00 may be required by a given provider, they may be
unacceptable to others (tests performed by Emil Ivov). So the first
step in which we plan to approach it is to enable the user to specify
a prefix in Tools > Options to be used for the phone numbers found in
a specific address book. As Damian Minkov suggested, such a feature
would also cover the cases in which an office uses a specific prefix
to dial "outside" phone numbers. We'll keep you and the dev mailing
list posted with updates on the described development.
