[jitsi-dev] Lost accounts & password on recent auto-update of Jitsi nightly beta builds

#1

Hi!

I am using the Jitsi nightly beta builds on Windows XP.

The new screen to "Configure all your favorite protocols in one
click." is very nice.

However, a few days ago, I seem to have lost all my accounts (logins
and passwords)

Is this a bug that I should report or just a transitional thing?
(normal for nightly beta)

Thanks!

No, this is not normal. We'll need more information such as the
version from which you updated and the version to which you updated
that made your accounts and passwords disappear, whether the update
erased all your preferences (e.g. if prior to the update you had any
preferences changed in Tools > Options, did they disappear as well),
any logs that may give hints to the origin of the problem...

Thanks for your reply.

1- Unfortunately, I didn't note which day it happened.

2- Tools > Options : Apart from the accounts, I don't remember making
any changes, and thus I don't know if something was lost.

3- Logs: Advanced -> logging -> [Archive Logs]
I will e-mail offlist because it's too big.

I am thinking perhaps it's a fluke because I had started a second
instance of Jitsi by accident. Although I just tried to start a second
instance of Jitsi, and it just bring back the first one (which is a
good thing but invalidates my theory)

Best regards,

M

Marc, I had a look at the logs you sent me but I cannot really figure
out a reason for the configuration file to disappear, it could very
well be related to starting two Jitsi instances. You may want to send
just the *.log.* files without the *.pcap files to the dev mailing
list so that other developers with more insight on the subject can
take a look and possibly figure it out.

Hope this helps.

If no one else reports, just consider a fluke a drop it.

Thanks!
