[jitsi-dev] Live Streaming Feature at meet.jit.si

#1

I noticed a live streaming feature has been added at meet.jit.si. Can
someone explain what it is and how it works.

Thanks,

Joseph

Hi Joseph,

The Live Streaming feature allows a conference to be streamed to a YouTube live stream. The moderator of the conference will get an additional UI element which prompts for a YouTube StreamID. A Live Stream participant will join your conference, and then the conference video and audio will appear in the YouTube live stream within a few moments.

The use case here is twofold: one is to allow conversations to be watched by many more people than actually participate in the conference. The second use case is to record a conversation to be viewed later on YouTube.

Please keep in mind that this is still an experimental feature, and I welcome any feedback on it!

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Cheers,

-Aaron
