[jitsi-dev] [JVB] rtcp-termination

#1

Hello,
I wanted to give a try to HighestQualityRTCPTerminationStrategy. But I
can't find how to activate it. Adding it to sipcommunicator.properties
lead to an error in jvb's log, saying it is unable to set this rtcp
termination strategy.
The javascript console method
(focus.setRTCPTerminationStrategy('org.jitsi.impl.neomedia.rtcp.' +
'termination.strategies.STRATEGY_NAME') seems no more possible since
focus is now jicofo.
Furthermore, searching "HighestQualityRTCPTerminationStrategy" in jvb
code gave me no result.
So my question is Is this strategy still usable and if yes how ?
Thanks

Hello,

There has been a major refactoring/rewrite of the RTCP termination code; unfortunately the documentation hasn’t kept up with the changes. Changing RTCP termination from the client is no longer supported (if you absolutely need this, e.g. if you do some performance evaluation, there’s still a way to do it if you’re willing to get your hands a little dirty). We’ve also removed the HighestQualityRTCPTerminationStrategy. What you should use instead is the BasicRTCPTerminationStrategy. You can activate it by including the following line in your sip-communicator.properties file:

org.jitsi.videobridge.rtcp.strategy=org.jitsi.impl.neomedia.rtcp.termination.strategies.BasicRTCPTerminationStrategy

I hope this helps.

Best,
George

Hi Georges !
Thank you very much for this answer !
May you give some details about BasicRTCPTerminationStrategy please ?
Especially, what is the difference with default strategy ?
Thanks
