Hi Everybody , some questions about jitsi-meet : 1. Is there a way to set cam resolution and choose among multiple installed cams ? 2. Is there a way to keep fixed the audio level when a video conference is in progress ? Actually , I can see from audio mixer , the levels of audio and gain control go to the top causing very high noise and distortion. I can’t figure out if that’s a problem related to webrtc or jitsi-meet. Thanks ! John.
Hi all,
Since I was able to open a room at meet.jit.si/whatever (choosing the
"whatever" myself) I assumed that I can invite others to the same room
with such a handy url. Indeed, they were able to join, but:
1. We couldn't see each other (there were just default shadows in
participants video boxes)
2. We couldn't hear each other either
So the only thing that actually worked was chat and presence (we knew
other people were in the room). We haven't tried other functionalities.
Is this expected behavior? Or are we not supposed to be able chose our
own url?
Going the conventional way (meet.jit.si -> get link to invite others ->
system generates random link) works ok for the same participants.
thanks
karel

There must have been some other issue, unrelated to the URL (we are currently aware of one that occurs when participants join too quickly). Just try again. User selected URLs are supposed to work.

3 of us had that same issue about 12 hours ago on meet.jit.si/TikiSuite
We just chose another URL and it worked beautifully, including screen
sharing.
Thanks and best regards,

This certainly wasn't the case.
Just try again. User selected URLs are supposed to work.
We did, with the same result. i am attaching the meetlog downloaded from
the page, in case it is of any use. I'll also send you the meeting url
off-list, in case that's helpful.
We were two who tried to meet. As I said, configurations of our machines
shouldn't be at fault as creating an ad-hoc meeting room via menu worked
very well.
Thanks

Just a heads-up that that's already seen in the logs, unless you
explicitly removed it. We use "handmade" URLs all the time and I don't
think we've run into problems with that, I also just tested and it
worked fine for me.

Boris

It was a bug (unrelated to chosen URLs) and it should be OK now. Please let us know if you see it again.

Thanks. We just tried again and it worked. Closing 'the ticket' and
sorry for the noise on the list.

FYI just saw something weird in the logs. We seem to using a fairly
narrow port range right now and what Karel is describing seems to
happen once we hit the limit.
We'll have a look tomorrow. Should be an easy fix.
