[jitsi-dev] [jitsi-videobridge] Debian init script problem if /bin/sh is /bin/bash (#30)

#1

Hi,
I installed Jitsi Meet with quick install method on Debian Jessie and init script for jitsi-videobridge does not work when /bin/sh is a symbolic link of /bin/bash:

~# ls -l /bin/sh
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 oct. 28 14:20 /bin/sh -> bash

~# /etc/init.d/jitsi-videobridge stop
Stopping jitsi-videobridge: /etc/init.d/jitsi-videobridge: ligne 37: PPID : readonly variable
zsh: exit 1 /etc/init.d/jitsi-videobridge stop

Maybe because PPID is an environnement variable ? Now with Dash :

~# ls -l /bin/sh
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 oct. 28 14:26 /bin/sh -> dash

~# /etc/init.d/jitsi-videobridge stop
Stopping jitsi-videobridge: jvb stopped.

To fix script for Bash i've replaced PPID with ppid : sed -i 's/PPID/ppid/g' /etc/init.d/jitsi-videobridge
