[jitsi-dev] jitsi video bridge forcing dominant speaker

#1

Hi !
I'm currently customizing my personal jitsi-meet based web application
and need help.

I want to know how to talk to my bridge :

1) Is there a way for a participant to tell the bridge what source he
wants to grab. For example, setting LastN=1, he may receive only 1
stream, how to signal to the bridge what is this stream, overriding the
conference dominant speaker.

2) Is there a way for a particular participant (perhaps focus) to
manually set dominant speaker overriding the automatic detection from
the bridge ?

Hey there,

Neither of these is currently supported but they both sound like something
we would consider.

Thanks Emil !
I'm thinking of lastN=1 case so, as a workaroud, since focus has
colibri connection, he may define which end point is streaming to which
channel as depicted in https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/issues/9 (introducing the new lastN feature). Is this right ?

But what will be the bridge behaviour when auto detection of dominant
speaker by the bridge and requested endpoint to channel mapping from
focus are in conflict ?
