[jitsi-dev] Jitsi : support Old Style SSL

#1

Hello, I'm trying to replace Pidgin with Jitsi at work. I tried using the
same configuration in Jitsi as in Pidgin but I haven't been able to connect
to far. The only configuration option that is not available that I know of
when I compare Pidgin to Jitsi, is the ability to use "old style SSL". I
know that when this is checked in pidgin I can connect. This option is not
available in Jitsi and I fear this is the cause of my connection problem.

Thanks !

Hey

Hello, I'm trying to replace Pidgin with Jitsi at work. I tried using the
same configuration in Jitsi as in Pidgin but I haven't been able to

connect

to far. The only configuration option that is not available that I know of
when I compare Pidgin to Jitsi, is the ability to use "old style SSL". I

know

that when this is checked in pidgin I can connect. This option is not
available in Jitsi and I fear this is the cause of my connection problem.

Given that the "old style SSL" was deprecated in XMPP 9 years ago, I'm not
sure whether we want to implement explicit support for that. But if you
don't care about security at all, you might be able to connect by enabling
the option "Allow insecure connection" in the account options. I'm not sure
though if that works.

Emil?

Thanks !
