[jitsi-dev] Jitsi Performance Problems

#1

Hello everybody,

I am using jitsi on my server to communicate with my friends. But I have some
performance problems. They are:

1) There is some connection probles like lagging and disconnection when 3 or
more people join the conversation.
2) Same problem when there is 2 or more people join the conversation from same
network.
3) I can't use local machine as a Jitsi server.

I have two solution for these:

1) Use IPv6 for Jitsi service with IPv6-IPv6 or IPv6-IPv4 tunneling
2) Increase videobridge server

Firstly, are these solutions will work and if it is can you help me to
activate these solutions? Is there any other advice about this performance
problems that you can give me? Maybe a document can help me out too

Thanks and regards

What is the machine you're running the videobridge on like? What you've
described is a very common use case so I wouldn't expect any issues there,
but if you're using a machine that's not very capable/under load there
might be issues--I would expect a more capable server (your solution #2) to
help there

I'm not sure what you mean by your references to ipv6.

Hi, thaks for oyur response

My machine is Centos 7. I have 1.8 GB ram, 2 GB swap and 2 core Intel xenon
cpu (Intel Xeon E312xx (Sandy Bridge)).

I made some tests. 2 machine join chat from same modem and I use my phones
internet. I have not package loss and I have 1024x768 resolution. But other
machines have 480x360 display and they have so much package loss. I check my
server during video chat. There was no overload on cpu or ram. There was
410-420 mb ram usage and %5 cpu usage.

I am using jitsi-meet, jicofo and video-bridge.

I can't say what is the problem. Can u help me?

Thanks and regards.
