[jitsi-dev] jitsi-meet without without webcam

#1

Hello everyone,

what is a status about participating in jitsi-meet without webcam? I
know about "--use-fake-device-for-media-stream" workaround for Chrome,
but maybe there is an option in configuration of jitsi-meet now or
another workarounds?

Thanks,
Stan

Hi, Stanislav.

For Chrome it works. The participant has just to deny access to the webcam,
and it will work with microphone only. The only problem is that such
participants will see video of others with a delay as reported in [1].

Zalmoxisus

Hi Michael,

thanks for the info, with "deny access to the webcam" do you mean
click on "cam" icon in jitsi-meet top bar?

Best,
Stan

I mean when Chrome asks you to allow access to the webcam. If you do not
have a webcam, it should require only the microphone.
