[jitsi-dev] Jitsi Meet version

#1

Hello everyone,

Is there any way to get the version number of Jitsi Meet that I'm currently using ?
I see that we can download many versions on https://download.jitsi.org/jitsi-meet/src/ but I have no idea what my version is.

Hi,

On the server you run:

"sudo apt-cache policy jitsi-meet"

Pawel

Hello Pawel,

It works. Thanks for you answer.

But the problem with "sudo apt-cache policy jitsi-meet" is that it depends only on the updates from the SourceList file and not the manual ones.
For example if my current version is 1.0.1252 and I download 1.0.1278 from https://download.jitsi.org/jitsi-meet/src/ Then I install it manually by replacing the old files. "sudo apt-cache policy jitsi-meet" will return 1.0.1252. Also, is there any changelog file where we can find records of changes such as bug fixes, new features, security updates, etc? Because the only spot where I could find this information is Github commits https://github.com/jitsi/jitsi-meet/releases ...

Best regards

Hi,

So check the html source when you load the page, it should work in your case.
There is no changelog currently, the only place to look for are the commits.

Hello,

Ok thanks for the confirmation.
I think it would be a good idea to add a changlog file in the future releases of Jitsi Meet.
