[jitsi-dev] Jitsi - General Question (x64)

#1

Hello everybody,
I made a jitsi installer for both x86 and x64 on my x86 Machine. I tried
running the x64 on a x64 PC. But it seems it doesn't recognize it as a x64
package.

What could be the problem.?

Thanks

Jitsi's Windows installer consists of a setup.exe which bootstraps an .MSI that it carries. Can you start the x64 setup.exe on your Windows x86? If you're sure that your setup.exe is an x64 executable, are you saying that the .MSI gets executed as an x64 package?

When i try running the x64 build on my machine(x86) i get an error like :
This installation package is not supported by this processor type. But on
the x64 machine i ran it, it said it is not supported also.

Please be as specific as possible because what you're experiencing is, obviously, a question of details. If you managed to successfully start your x64 setup.exe on a x86 Windows and you got an error that the _installation package_ was not supported, then your setup.exe is not an x64 executable but an x86 executable. Otherwise, Windows x86 would've refused to start the setup.exe in the first place. Please take a screenshot of the error message dialog and the list of processes at that time.

But on the x64 machine i ran it, it said it is not supported also.

Well, no ideas here.

Anyway, do you have a MinGW that targets Windows x64 installed and are you sure you used it to perform your x64 build?
