[jitsi-dev] Jitsi does not detect my webcam (pidgin, cheese, VLC and even Skype do)

#1

I can use my usb-webcam with all the named programs, I can even cat
/dev/video0 but Jitsi fails to detect it.
Jitsi does not create any kind of log-entry related to video, the tab
video in the setting just shows cam: <no device> (Kamera: <Kein Gert>)

take some logs&outputs:

So would we. As far as the bluejimp team is concerned though, we are
currenntly concentrating on stabilizong videobridge, replacing portaudio
and android. In other words: our hands are quite full.

Anyone else willing to look into this?

Hi,

in my case jitsi can see my usb webcam, and can turn it on ("in use" led), but just
shows black in the preview window. it works fine with skype, luvcview, ... on
debian, and a similar setup with my laptop's built in webcam works fine.
(todo: test laptop + usb webcam)

see this earlier post, still hoping for any feedback

thanks,
Hamish

Well, I guess Jitsi should still at least show that there is a webcam,
and its no problem for the other applications.

Additional information:
when starting luvcview:
(…)

ERROR: Requested frame format MJPG is not available and no fallback
format was found.
Init v4L2 failed !! exit fatal

Same when I set the format to yuyv or yuv, so maybee its because of
the strange format "Pixel Format : 'P207'"?
