[jitsi-dev] Jitsi cannot download dictionaries for chat

#1

Since it tries to download them from ftp.services.openoffice.org and openoffice servers are currently not in good health.
Can some mirror addresses be added and tried too?
Even better, could jitsi mirror this on its server to assure that a reliable
download location exists?
Alternatively, can an option to manually load a dictionary into jitsy be put in place? E.g. the language menu could have an entry °drop in a custom dictionary" and the file selection menu could hint at the fact that it must be a zip file in the format Openoffice dictionaries are shipped.

Hi,

Yeah some dictionary links aren't consistent. We discussed about the
possibility of mirroring the broken links, but I don't think everyone was
convinced by that idea.

You could add more dictionaries by modifying the parameters.xml. But I think
your idea sounds better, not sure about the validation of the zip format.
Because I think even hunspell dictionaries have almost the same format
barring a few changes ( and hunspell formatted dictionaries aren't
compatible with myspell ).

Thanks,
Purvesh.
