[jitsi-dev] Jitsi 4018 no audio on Debian 32-bit with PulseAudio

#1

Hello,

Since the 4018 update, audio isnt working in Jitsi (for capture and
playback). In the options, the "Audio System" dropdown list is empty.

Trying to call leads to these messages:

This is with a ip-ip local lan call:

14:55:40.684 SEVERE:
impl.protocol.sip.OperationSetBasicTelephonySipImpl.processResponse().642 Received
error: 415 Unsupported Media Type

This is with a call attempt via a SIP server:

14:59:34.881 SEVERE:
impl.protocol.sip.OperationSetBasicTelephonySipImpl.processResponse().642 Received
error: 488 Not acceptable here

Both above scenarios work just fine with 4017 and prior.

I run Debian Wheezy 32-bit

OpenJDK:

java version "1.6.0_24"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.11.1) (6b24-1.11.1-5)
OpenJDK Server VM (build 20.0-b12, mixed mode)

PulseAudio 1.1-3

The calling/ringer sounds do play though.

Thank you very much for the report! Please try build 4019 which fixes
the problem.

Yes, it is fixed now. Thanks.

By the way, what does the PulseAudio integration mean? I still see the
Jitsi sounds as "Alsa plugin:Java" in pavucontrol. Regardless what
device i select as input/output.

Also, if i select other than the "default" sound device it will be reset
to "default" if i restart Jitsi.

Well, I see a native lib for PulseAudio for 64bit Linux systems only.
IMHO Jitsi fails back to portaudio (Alsa) on 32bit Linux systems.
Somebody just needs to create the 32bit PulseAudio shared lib.

Please update to SVN r9577. PulseAudio should be available as an
alternative to PortAudio in Jitsi's audio configuration form.
